Bodhisattva by David Roe
Reggie, Won’t you come and play with me? The sun is burning. The leaves are turning.
We’ll go running through the woods and the trees, Reggie the world won’t be this pretty much longer.
Reggie, the apples on the trees are ready to pick. It’s only been since summer that I’ve known you well.
We’ve seen a lot of heaven and just a little hell. Reggie the world won’t be this pretty much longer.
Tell me what’s the use in wondering what the world is all about. If we could have played a little longer, Maybe we could work it out.But now my dreams are gone. Life moves on. I’m searching for my peace.
I want to thank you lady. You taught me how to believe. Reggie, Let’s all go camping by the sunset tree. We’ll bring guitars and mandolins and we’ll all sing. The outside world is a far away thing. Reggie the world won’t be this pretty much longer. Reggie, They’ve locked you in that box of wood. Now you’re free like you wanted to be. The tears in my eyes don’t want me to see. Reggie, you’re going to live in me forever. Tell me what’s the use in wondering What the world is all about. If we could have played a little longer, Maybe we could work it out. But now my dreams are gone and life moves on. I’m searching for my peace. I want to thank you lady. You taught me how to believe.
